Safe Haven has been a great book to read. It’s filled with action, adventure and romance. The theme so far in my opinion is, don’t do anything you’ll regret in the long run. "She didn’t want to remember Kevin, didn’t want to think about him. She wanted to erase him entirely, to pretend he never existed. But he would always be there." (Sparks 148). This quote shows that now looking back she would have done things differently than how she did them. Kevin was a bad decision that she made and now she regrets making that mistake. But despite all that she did make the decision and she has to deal with the consequences. And even though she tries her best to forget about him there is no way she could. Because what happend between them is unforgetable.
I can definitely relate to this theme because I’ve done a lot of things that I regret. I mean, who hasn’t done things they regret doing? However, I learn from my mistakes and I make sure that I try to avoid doing that same thing over again. This book gives the reader advice to be careful with the decisions that you make so that in the future you don’t have to worry or constantly think about your dumb decision that has now affected you in a way you could never imagine.
Good job Mariana!! I love how this post is simple and complex at the same time; short and sweet;) Also, nice job making the connection between the bad decision the main character made and saying that you have also made decisions you regret.
ReplyDeleteMariana i liked how you related the theme back to yourself and how this theme would relate not only to yourslef and the main character but to others as well. I thought your qoute worked with you theme and analysis well. This was a great book choice! Safe Haven is one of my favorite Nicholas Sparks books.
